Finance Operations Associate, Venture Capital
Our client is looking for a sharp, motivated individual to join their small finance team and work closely with the Head of Finance in supporting the operational and reporting needs of their VC fund with $200 million in assets under management.
This role is ideal for someone early in their finance career, perhaps a part-qualified accountant who’s completed the first stage of exams (and possibly into the professional level) – looking to gain exposure to fund operations, portfolio management, and the inner workings of a VC firm.
You will be involved in everything from assisting with financial reporting and fund administration to improving internal processes and supporting investment-related finance work.
- Assist with the preparation of fund and management company financial statements
- Support the Head of Finance with fund operations, including capital calls, distributions, investor reporting, and reconciliations
- Maintain accurate financial records across both the fund and management company
- Liaise with fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and portfolio companies
- Support preparation of management information, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
- Help streamline financial processes and reporting workflows
- Participate in ad hoc financial analysis and project work as the firm grows
- Stakeholder management, including presentations and LP queries
- Exposure to all financial aspects of a venture capital fund and management company.

Key Requirements
- A graduate who is actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ACA). At least first-level exams completed, ideally into the professional Level
- 1-2 years post graduation accounting experience, ideally working with SME businesses (either at an accountancy practice or in-house at another financial services firm)
- Understanding of financial statements and strong core accounting fundamentals
- Solid Excel skills and familiarity with accounting systems
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and numerical accuracy
- Proactive, intellectually curious, and eager to learn about the VC and investment ecosystem
- Excellent visual presentations skills – able to prepare clear, professional materials for internal and external stakeholders
- Naturally analytical and adaptable, comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team
- Keen to develop a career at the intersection of finance and operations
