If you are looking to make a great first impression, then the power of formal attire should not be underestimated. According to our recent 2022 survey, almost 80% of those who took part were certain that being ‘smartly dressed’ for an interview is necessary to increase your chances of getting hired, especially within the finance sector. Even if you are interviewing for a role that has a more casual dress code once you are on the job. It pays off in spades to look sharp and professional when applying for any financial position.

When picking out what to wear for an interview, we suggest that you err on the side of caution and go for classic cuts and colours – think navy, blue or grey suit with a crisp white shirt and smart shoes. Your accessories should also remain simple – keep your jewellery minimal (we recommend leaving statement pieces at home) and there is no harm in adding an equally stylish briefcase!
